Gomining miner upgrades increase hashrate or reduce electricity demand

Gomining miner upgrades let you increase a digital miner's computing power or lower the electricity demand associated with its existing mining power. Power upgrades add TH/s, expanding the hashrate linked to the miner. Efficiency upgrades lower W/TH, reducing its electricity charge when other billing inputs stay unchanged. Choosing between them means comparing the upfront quote with additional net rewards or fee savings. Eligibility matters first, especially for inefficient miners or miners bought through installments.

More Hashrate or Lower Electricity Demand

Power Upgrades

A power upgrade increases the computing capacity attached to your miner and its potential gross Bitcoin rewards under comparable mining conditions. TH/s means terahashes per second; the account commonly shortens this to TH. Additional capacity also incurs maintenance fees, so the extra gross reward isn't the increase that you keep.

Manual power upgrades stop at 5 000 TH per miner. Power pricing varies with the miner's level and energy-efficiency rating. Moving into a higher level can change the cost of additional TH, which makes the quote for your chosen target more useful than a farm-wide average purchase price.

Energy Efficiency Upgrades

An efficiency upgrade lowers watts per terahash while retaining the existing hashrate. Lower W/TH reduces the electricity needed to support that capacity. The change affects the electricity component of maintenance; equipment service remains a separate cost to include in the calculation.

Miner Wars uses both total power and average efficiency to determine how quickly a farm accumulates points. An upgrade can therefore affect competition as well as daily mining economics. Greater scoring potential increases winning chances; it doesn't establish the value of a future game reward.

Eligibility Before a Power Purchase

A miner's efficiency can block additional hashrate even when its power remains below the available limit. Gomining ended power upgrades for miners above 20 W/TH on July 18, 2025 at 15:00 UTC. A miner above that cutoff needs an efficiency upgrade before it can receive more TH. Reinvestment has its own, stricter efficiency rule, so eligibility for a manual purchase doesn't establish eligibility for automation.

An active miner subscription blocks manual power upgrades. Mine Now, Pay Later adds a separate restriction. An active installment plan blocks miner upgrades, including subscription upgrades and reward reinvestment. Completing all payments removes this upgrade restriction immediately. Selling and minting follow different timing rules, so the removal of an upgrade restriction doesn't mean every other miner action becomes available simultaneously.

Upgrade Cost Against Daily Net Gains

Added Power

The power quote buys a change in TH, with ongoing charges attached to that extra capacity. Compare additional gross BTC rewards against additional electricity and service costs after applicable discounts. Express both amounts in the same currency for the same period. Qualifying additional TH can raise VIP status and change the maintenance discount. A projection that counts the whole miner's payout against a small power purchase credits the upgrade with earnings that the original capacity already generated.

Efficiency Savings

Reducing a miner from 15 W/TH to 12 W/TH lowers its electricity consumption by 20% at unchanged hashrate. Its total maintenance bill doesn't fall by that percentage because equipment service remains separate. The daily saving also depends on the electricity rate and discounts. When discounts already reduce the electricity charge, the cash saving from the same W/TH improvement becomes smaller.

Miner Wars applies League-average efficiency and maintenance discounts only to the portion of BTC rewards above your farm's Mining Mode output. A daily Mining Mode estimate therefore doesn't price every part of a game payout.

For a positive daily gain, simple payback in days equals the upgrade cost divided by that additional net income or cost saving. A zero or negative gain gives no positive payback under that calculation. The estimate assumes its inputs stay constant. Bitcoin's price, network difficulty and operating charges can change the outcome. A larger percentage increase in net rewards can still represent a small daily amount when the starting margin is thin.

From an Upgrade Quote to Changed Miner Attributes

The upgrade comparison starts with the selected miner's current TH and W/TH. Open its Power and Energy efficiency choices and compare the quoted changes against the same criterion: additional net value relative to the amount paid. If an eligible target or a price is missing, the comparison lacks a necessary input. Keep the existing attributes as the baseline before choosing either route.

A higher electricity rate increases the savings from a lower W/TH rating when other inputs stay unchanged. With the same efficiency-upgrade quote, that change shortens estimated payback. Added TH also becomes more expensive to operate under the higher rate.

Open the Miner Select the miner in Mining farm and open Upgrade. Current TH and W/TH identify the starting attributes.
Review Both Targets Choose Power or Energy efficiency to inspect available changes and their cost. The target must be available for that miner.
Purchase the Chosen Change Choose Power for added TH or Energy efficiency for lower W/TH, then pay using an offered method. The selected upgrade determines which attribute should change.
Inspect the Updated Miner Compare its resulting TH and W/TH with the original attributes. Higher TH confirms added power; lower W/TH confirms improved efficiency.
The changed miner attribute confirms the recorded upgrade; a later BTC reward remains subject to mining conditions and operating costs.

If payment completes but the intended attribute doesn't change, keep the payment details and contact support before purchasing the same upgrade again.

Automatic Power Growth Has Separate Requirements

Reward Reinvestment

In Mining Mode, TH reinvestment uses earned BTC to buy additional power at the upgrade price available when it runs. TH reinvestment adds power to one selected miner at a time. Eligibility requires 10-5 000 TH, a rating below 20 W/TH and daily earnings of at least $0.10. Sale listings, active monthly power subscriptions and unfinished installment plans prevent selection. TH reinvestment can't use Bonus Miner rewards. Rewards below the processing threshold stay in the virtual wallet as BTC. This route directs earnings into capacity, reducing the BTC that remains available for withdrawal.

TH reinvestment adds no separate reinvestment fee. Its VIP TH bonus is 5% at Silver I and above, rising to 10% at Diamond I and above. The conversion uses the BTC market exchange rate at the time of the upgrade.

Monthly Subscriptions

A miner subscription buys monthly power growth through recurring payments. For an existing miner, eligibility requires a virtual-wallet location, power below 1 000 TH and a rating greater than 12 W/TH. The miner can't already be selected for TH reinvestment or belong to Greedy Machines. That efficiency condition belongs specifically to the subscription route; improving to a lower W/TH rating doesn't automatically open every growth feature. While a subscription remains active, the miner can't be sold, withdrawn, minted or selected for TH reinvestment.

The fifth consecutive subscription payment and later payments receive an 8% TH bonus. That percentage measures extra computing power against the base upgrade.

Buying Another Miner Instead

Buying another miner expands farm hashrate through a separate asset, while upgrading changes an existing miner. Compare the added capacity and operating costs against the full purchase quote. A new miner's efficiency rating applies to its own power; it doesn't improve the ratings of miners that you already hold. An efficiency upgrade addresses that existing capacity directly.

The June 16, 2026 launch introduced 12 W/TH for newly created primary-market miners and upgrades to existing miners. A power upgrade can take advantage of an existing miner's level-based pricing, while a new purchase brings its own power, efficiency and acquisition restrictions.

Things people ask about Gomining miner upgrades

Can I Upgrade a Miner That I Bought From Another Holder?

Yes, a miner bought on the secondary market can receive further power or efficiency upgrades within the applicable limits. Power upgrades remain subject to the efficiency restriction and the 5 000 TH ceiling, while efficiency upgrades stop at the best efficiency currently available on the platform.

What Happens If My Card Has Insufficient Funds for a Monthly Miner Upgrade?

If your card has insufficient funds, the platform doesn't automatically cancel your miner subscription. The platform retries the charge and preserves the subscription's bonus level during payment problems. If payment later succeeds after skipped months, the previous bonus level remains.

Will Paying for an Upgrade With GOMINING Affect My Maintenance Discount?

Spending GOMINING on an upgrade can reduce the token balance that supports your maintenance discount. The discount depends on how many maintenance days your wallet balance and locked tokens cover. A power upgrade can also increase the daily bill, changing that coverage even if the token quantity stays unchanged. Spendable wallet tokens must also cover actual maintenance payments.

Does Selling an Upgraded Miner Remove Its Added Power or Efficiency?

No, the upgrades form part of the miner's attributes when you sell it. Upgraded miners can enter the secondary market and receive further eligible upgrades. An active miner subscription prevents selling, so sale eligibility and the attributes that transfer with the miner are separate matters.
