Gomining maintenance fees: Operating Costs, Discounts and Zero Rewards

Gomining maintenance fees cover the electricity and equipment service that support your digital miner's Bitcoin mining power. They reduce daily mining proceeds after applicable discounts. Paying with GOMINING tokens changes which balance covers the bill; it doesn't remove the expense. When maintenance would exceed a miner's reward, enabled Reward Protection stops that payout at zero. Energy efficiency, the applied electricity rate, token coverage and eligible discounts determine how much remains after operating costs.

Electricity and Equipment Service Costs

Lower W/TH reduces Mining Mode electricity costs at a fixed hashrate and electricity rate. Adding mining power increases the amount of capacity that incurs those charges, even with unchanged efficiency.

Electricity Consumption

Hashrate measures computing power in terahashes per second, commonly displayed as TH. The W/TH rating records electricity demand per unit of mining power. Daily energy consumption equals mining power multiplied by W/TH, multiplied by 24 hours then divided by 1 000. Multiplying those kilowatt-hours by the applied electricity rate gives the electricity cost in USD. Gomining lists electricity pricing of $0.05-$0.07 per kWh and uses the project's billing-period average in its calculation. Improving efficiency changes energy consumption without increasing the miner's hashing capacity.

Equipment Service

Equipment service covers hardware upkeep, cooling systems, infrastructure, monitoring and on-site engineers. Daily Mining Mode accounting uses a service charge of $0.0089 per TH per day before discounts. This component scales with hashrate, so increasing power raises the service bill. Improving W/TH reduces electricity consumption while leaving the service calculation per TH unchanged. Gomining reviews maintenance pricing, so that rate isn't a lifetime price commitment. Miner upgrades also have a purchase cost, separate from their effect on future operating charges.

BTC Deductions and Token-Paid Maintenance

Maintenance can consume BTC rewards or liquid GOMINING in the virtual wallet. Comparing the payment choices requires counting both the BTC retained and the tokens spent.

Maintenance Taken From BTC

BTC payment subtracts discounted electricity and service costs from the pool reward. The accounting relationship is net reward = pool reward - (electricity + service) × (1 - applicable discount). Pool reward and operating costs need the same currency basis; express the combined discount as a fraction. Because operating costs use USD pricing, a lower BTC price requires more BTC to cover an unchanged dollar bill. A smaller BTC credit therefore doesn't establish that the electricity rate increased. Higher mining difficulty can reduce the pool reward available to absorb those costs.

Maintenance Paid With GOMINING

Token payment uses liquid GOMINING in the virtual wallet when the maintenance setting is enabled. If those tokens cover the full bill, maintenance doesn't consume that eligible miner's BTC reward. The token payment still represents an operating expense, so the credited BTC alone overstates the after-cost return. An insufficient balance sends uncovered costs back to BTC rewards. The token-payment discount doesn't apply to fees that can't be settled in tokens; other eligible discounts have their own requirements.

What Happens When Maintenance Exceeds Mining Rewards?

With Reward Protection enabled, a miner's daily payout stops at zero when its maintenance would exceed its reward. The protected miner has neither a reward credit nor a maintenance charge for that day. Its reward and maintenance figures both show zero.

Token-paid maintenance enables Reward Protection automatically, though users can disable the setting. Disabling it can allow maintenance spending to exceed mining income. The payout floor doesn't reimburse a miner purchase or an efficiency upgrade. It also doesn't stabilize the value of GOMINING held for future fees.

Each miner's break-even BTC price shows when its mining reward covers operating costs under the displayed conditions. The My Miners view compares that point with the market price. Network difficulty and maintenance discounts move the break-even point, so an earlier positive margin doesn't establish today's margin. In Mining Mode, with efficiency, discounts and the other calculation inputs unchanged, adding hashrate raises both rewards and costs without improving the per-TH margin. A meaningful cost comparison uses the same mining mode, billing period and applicable discounts.

Reward reporting separates mining proceeds from reinvestment. An absent BTC credit can therefore reflect reinvestment into tokens or mining power or indicate an actual zero-reward day.

Maintenance Options and Their Boundaries

Maintenance choices affect different parts of the operating bill: its payment balance, eligible discounts or electricity consumption. Several can apply together, so a payment setting doesn't replace the other requirements.

Maintenance Options and Their Boundaries

Maintenance choices affect different parts of the operating bill: its payment balance, eligible discounts or electricity consumption. Several can apply together, so a payment setting doesn't replace the other requirements.

  • Maintenance Option: BTC payment Applicable Boundary: Costs reduce BTC rewards; the token-payment discount doesn't apply.
  • Maintenance Option: GOMINING payment Applicable Boundary: Requires the enabled setting and sufficient liquid tokens for eligible fees.
  • Maintenance Option: Energy-efficiency upgrade Applicable Boundary: In Mining Mode, lowers electricity use per TH; service remains power-based.
  • Maintenance Option: VIP maintenance discount Applicable Boundary: The account's VIP status and any retained earlier rate determine its discount entitlement.
  • Maintenance Option: Service button streak Applicable Boundary: Missing a UTC day resets the accumulated streak discount.
  • Maintenance Option: Mining Mode discount Applicable Boundary: Doesn't apply during the trial period or in Miner Wars.
  • Maintenance Option: Reward Protection Applicable Boundary: The daily payout floor depends on the protection setting remaining enabled.

Which Discounts Reduce the Daily Maintenance Bill?

Maintenance discounts can come from token coverage, VIP status, daily use of the Service button and an eligible Mining Mode allocation. Each component has separate conditions.

Token Coverage

The token-payment schedule reaches its 20% discount tier at 360 or more days of eligible maintenance coverage. Lower tiers begin at 18 days of coverage. Eligible wallet holdings and locked tokens contribute to that calculation, but payments still need liquid GOMINING. Coverage measures purchasing capacity, not a fixed token quantity. Enlarging the farm raises its maintenance requirement; spending or withdrawing tokens reduces coverage. Token exchange-rate changes can move the tier even when the token count stays unchanged.

VIP Benefits and Service Streaks

VIP maintenance benefits follow qualifying status, which can come from eligible mining power, veGOMINING votes or referral activity. The standard schedule ranges from 0.3% at Bronze II to 6% at Elite, with retained earlier rates for some existing accounts. The Service button adds 0.3 percentage points for each consecutive UTC day, up to 3% after 10 days. Missing a UTC day resets the streak. Its daily window restarts at 00:00 UTC, rather than following the account holder's local midnight.

Mining Mode Eligibility

Mining Mode adds a maintenance discount automatically outside the trial period. Its amount follows Burn & Mint allocations and veGOMINING voting, so it isn't a fixed percentage. That allocation doesn't apply to Miner Wars. Changing modes therefore changes discount eligibility alongside the reward schedule, even with unchanged miner specifications.

Daily Mining and Miner Wars Use Different Accounting

Mining Mode accounts for full UTC mining days, while Miner Wars settles BTC rewards over a seven-day cycle. Game maintenance covers the cycle, with your share allocated to winning rounds in which you participated. TH share and round weighting enter that allocation. Protection applies to individual block calculations, so winning blocks can still produce zero BTC after maintenance. Rewards above a farm's Mining Mode-equivalent output use league-average energy efficiency and maintenance discounts for that excess portion. The portion up to that threshold retains the farm's own parameters.

Miner Wars records discounts at 00:00 UTC on Tuesday when the cycle closes. Settlement draws on liquid GOMINING block by block. A balance that funds only part of settlement can produce discounted blocks followed by blocks charged in BTC at full price. Personal GOMINING winnings don't incur the maintenance deduction that applies to BTC game rewards. Daily token-payment coverage and funding an entire game settlement therefore require different balance planning. Holding BTC directly avoids recurring mining maintenance, while producing no hosted mining reward.

Quick answers about Gomining maintenance fees

Can I Pay Maintenance in GOMINING for Just One Miner?

Token-paid maintenance is a farm-wide setting, so you can't enable it individually for selected miners. It applies across eligible miners when you activate it in reward settings. Bonus Miner maintenance remains payable in BTC, which is a separate exception to the farm-wide payment choice.

Does a Bonus Miner Qualify for the token-payment Maintenance Discount?

Bonus Miner rewards don't qualify for the GOMINING payment discount because their maintenance fees remain payable in BTC. Once you own a digital miner, standard VIP and Service button discounts can apply to the Bonus Miner. Those benefits don't make its fees eligible for token payment. Promotional Bonus Miner terms can vary between accounts.

Is a BTC Withdrawal Fee Included in Daily Maintenance?

A BTC withdrawal fee is separate from the electricity and equipment service that daily maintenance covers. Withdrawal charges depend on Bitcoin network load, market conditions and the custody provider serving the account. The withdrawal screen shows the applicable amount before confirmation. A daily mining net reward therefore doesn't establish the amount you'll retain after an external withdrawal.

Do Reinvested GOMINING Rewards Carry a Separate Conversion Fee?

Automatic reinvestment into GOMINING carries a 2.25% fee, separate from electricity and equipment service. It uses BTC rewards to purchase tokens and credits them to the virtual wallet. Reinvestment can replenish the balance used for maintenance, but it doesn't replace the separate setting that enables token-paid maintenance.

Will a Secondhand Miner Increase My VIP Maintenance Discount?

Power from a miner bought from another user after August 15, 2025 doesn't count toward VIP status. Secondary-market power acquired before that date continues to count, and eligible power upgrades that you make count separately. The exclusion concerns the power-based VIP calculation, so a miner's reward-generating power and its VIP-qualifying power can differ. veGOMINING votes or referral activity can still determine a higher qualifying status.

When Does an Older VIP Maintenance Discount Change?

An account that retains an earlier Bronze I, Bronze II or Silver I maintenance rate moves to the newer schedule when its VIP level changes. Matching tier labels therefore don't always establish identical fee treatment for accounts with different histories. The account's VIP privileges show its applicable maintenance benefit.
